Still have lots of work to do, but I made good progress this week. Here are a few crappy cell phone pics before I wrap things up tonight.

Finally got around to my masks from Jordu's class. Tonight I trimmed the extra pieces of latex off of my Dragon and Orc. Still need to clean the bits of plaster off and prime them and they'll be all ready for painting. Eventually.
It's done! I'm done! It's finally done! And doesn't it look fantastic?! I stopped by Sew LA on my way home from work to punch in all the grommets and lace up the back. I was so excited I went straight home and put it on and tightened it all the way, took this picture... and promptly fell over. Too much! Evidently these things take some getting used to.
My work on the "Lady in Gray [Clay]" continues; I figured I'd post a few more process shots of the completed skeletal-like structure and then some to show how I'm beginning to build up the legs. We're not supposed to be focusing on surface quality right now, just basic shapes (read: squint a little so the choppy surface doesn't distract you).

I got these awesome shelves as a gift, mounted them this week; and then I sorted and organized all of my supplies. I even found room for a few toys. The result: a clean and clear work space, with [almost] everything I could possibly need right within my reach! (It doesn't hurt to have long arms.)

So I didn't finish my Maleficent costume in time and had to rely on my fallback costume today. Here's a little shout out to @Ed Kim for busting up my nice proton pack; I actually made this pack this morning/ afternoon with supplies from around the house. Took me about two hours in total.

I'm currently taking the under-bust corset construction class at Sew L.A. and my fabulous corset is nearly complete! In the next (and last) class we'll add the boning; finishing the top and bottom edges; add the rivets and ribbon to the back; and busk to the front! Now if only I had somewhere to wear this...
I'm currently taking Character Sculpture at Gnomon, with John Brown. This week we completed and posed our telescopic armature (removable arms for detail work and casting).

Here's the finished sculpt of my dragon head half-mask that I did in Jordu Shell's class this paste summer. After this we made a plaster mold and cast it in latex... the latex half-mask is currently sitting in my office closet waiting to get a little love, and paint.
